All About Accessory Work

Accessory Work is one of those things that is usually added to the end of your workout to help you either work on a weakness or help you bust through a plateau. It is important that each and every one of you know where your body is weak and why. Then find the appropriate exercise to help fix that problem.

I like to add a bit of work before and after each one of my athletes training. Whether it’s making sure both sides of the body are equal or working on a weak lower back, it helps performance and injury prevention.

We have a lot of tools in our toolbox at Radix – kinesiology with Jackie at KINnected Training, Physiotherapy & Acupuncture with Lisa at Palermo Physio & Wellness, and Mobility & Athletic Therapy with Annie. It’s important to have a professional assessment to determine exactly where your weak spots are in your training, and every day movement!

Accessory work isn’t always glamorous or sweaty like a WOD, but it’s just as important for your longevity in sport & fitness.
